New Year Pokemon Go: We May Finally See Articuno

Just where is Articuno in the New Year Pokemon Go? Niantic wants you to have an excellent start to the year by introducing a final event that will allow you to hatch multiple eggs at the same time. But is there any truth to rumors that we will see one of Pokemon’s legendary birds- Articuno, Moltres, or Zapdos.

One huge question remains in the Pokemon Go world since its conception last year: Where are all the legendary Pokemons? When will Niantic plan to release them, particularly Articuno, the coolest of the legendary birds?

Is Articuno going to be released for New Year Pokemon Go?

Even New Year Pokemon Go has not released either Articuno, Moltres, or Zapdos. They, and Mew and Mewtwo, are nowhere to be found even after six months since the game was conceived.

When the Pokedex was completed shortly after the game’s release, there were rumors that the legendary birds will now be released in the wild. Back in August, someone claimed to have caught Articuno, but this was neither confirmed nor replicated.

Even other wild Pokemons such as Lapras are hard to find. In fact, Niantic had to hold a special community event in Japan for Lapras to be available in one area there. If that is the case, then it’s quite possible that Niantic would host a special event for its release.

New Year’s event will be quite a spectacle

There is no word yet on when Articuno will be released, though others are saying that the bird can still be released before the end of 2016. The New Year’s event on Dec. 30 can provide Niantic one last time to surprise the game’s fans.

According to Pokemon Go, the event will give players additional incubator spaces, as well as the chance to encounter these Pokemons: Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle. The event will start on Dec. 25 and will run until Jan. 3, 2017.

Aside from the chance to encounter the Pokemons from the Kanto region and the multitude of incubators, players can also find more holiday-themed Pikachus in Santa hats during the New Year Pokemon Go event.
