Oscars 2017: When And Where To Watch Academy Awards Online

The Oscars 2017 will hand out the much-coveted trophy on Sunday, Feb. 26. Everyone wants to know whether La La Land will be Oscar’s big winner this year. And if the Damien Chazelle film will take home the Best Picture category. Meanwhile, the list of presenters and performers are also released!

Just like the Miss Universe pageant in January, all eyes will be watching the Oscars 2017 on Feb. 26. Us Weekly reports that Hollywood’s biggest awards night will be hosted by ABC’s late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel.

Moreover, movie fanatics who does not have access to a television or cable services can still join the festivities. The outlet notes there are two ways to watch the Oscars online. They can either head to ABC’s website or they can download ABC’s app on their mobile devices.

In case you want to see the stars sashay their evenings gowns and suits, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that viewers can start watching the red carpet coverage at 7 P.M. However, the official awarding ceremony starts at 8:30 P.M. at The Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

The latter report notes that the Oscars 2017 presenters will be Samuel L. Jackson, Arrival’s Amy Adams, Scarlett Johansson and Charlize Theron. Moreover, the source notes that Sting, John Legend, Justin Timberlake and Lin-Manuel Miranda will perform for the audience and their fellow artists.

Is Moonlight La La Land’s Biggest Threat?

The aforementioned source notes that while La La Land snagged 14 Oscar nominations including the Best Picture category, Moonlight is going to be one of the film’s tough contenders. The outlet notes that the Barry Jenkins film is reportedly the biggest threat to La La Land’s Oscar win.

Similar to the Best Picture category, the other Oscar categories like Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Director will also be a tight race. There are speculations that Denzel Washington’s performance in Fences might win the Academy over Casey Affleck’s character in Manchester By The Sea.

For the Best Actress category, the female nominees are Natalie Portman for Jackie, Meryl Streep (Florence Foster Jenkins), Isabelle Huppert (Elle), Ruth Negga (Loving) and Emma Stone for La La Land.
