Game of Thrones Season 5 is just around the corner and so is the newest rendition of Westworld Season 2 – although we’ll have to wait for another year and it probably won’t feature the “west” of the worlds available. It does really seem that HBO knows its stuff. However, not all of us have HBO and if you want to watch the latest episodes of Jon Snow trying to rule the North then we have a solution for you: Free HBO, courtesy of AT&T.
FREE HBO: Wait, what?
Time Warner cost AT&T more than $85 billion in acquisition, but according to sources such as Tech Crunch, they are already “leveraging Time Warner assets to boost its own services.”
Starting from today, April 6, subscribers of the Unlimited Plus plan will get you free HBO. It is a top tier plan for a reason, it gives you a lot more than your normal plans. Don’t worry if you’re paying for HBO as of the moment as it will now also be cancelled.
How about if you do not want to add television to your plan? You can still avail for the free HBO subscription through HBO’s app, HBO Go.
And wait, there’s more, streaming HBO shows with your mobile, tablet or computer is counted against the zero rating, meaning they won’t count against your data cap. Score!
Bernadettte Aulestia, the EVP of global distribution for HBO said that, “This latest unlimited wireless plan shows AT&T continuing to innovate and give customers what they desire.”
Is There More?
If you are a subscriber of Unlimited Plus and you are also currently subscribed to an AT&T video service, you will be getting HBO absolutely free. DirecTV Now users will be getting HBO, HBO East, and HBO Family. Whilst, DirecTV subscribers will get HBO, HBO 2 HBO Comedy, Latino, Signature, On Demand, Zone and of course HBO Family so you can have a little move fun with kids.
We are yet to see how the rest of the competition will re-strategize their marketing efforts in order to compete.
Stay tuned to Tripped Media for more updates on HBO free services and your favourite shows like the upcoming Game of Thrones Season 5. We hope we get more freebies in the future.
