These rumors sure have helped in bringing much-needed publicity to the show. Nina Dobrev took to Instagram to announce her return to the show. She says, “I know it’s Thursday, but this is not a TBT. #BackOnSet #TVDForever”. The showrunner Julie Plec is excited to have her back on the show as it will bring the show to a logical end.

The Vampire Diaries Finale Season will also see returning characters like Melinda Clarke. She will reprise the role of Kelly Donovan on the show. Other returning characters include “Uncle” John (David Anders) and Jeremy Gilbert (Steven R. McQueen), reports TV Line.

Nina Dobrev will feature in the final episode titled I Was Feeling Epic. Two Seasons back, the actress bid adieu to the show to pursue other projects. Upon the completion of the finale, the actress wrote an emotional note on Instagram bidding farewell to the show.
Some parts of the note read, “Dearest TVD family, It feels like it was just yesterday that I was saying goodbye. This is my true final goodbye, as today I shot my last scene of the Vampire Diaries forever.” Clearly, the post was not just another farewell note, the actress poured put her heart and called TVD- ‘her home and family’.
