This Is Us Season 2 Fans Need To See Beyond Jack’s Death; UK Viewers Unimpressed

Up until this moment, This Is Us Season 2 fans expect the show’s first episode to reveal how Jack died. However, viewers are encouraged to look beyond Jack’s death because there is more than meets the eye. On the other hand, despite being North America’s top rating show, the NBC show fail to impress its UK viewers.

Viewers Need To See The Bigger Picture

NBC’s This Is Us Season 2 series is still months away from airing yet fans want to know what happens on the show’s premiere episode. In particular, they want to know how and why Jack Pearson (Milo Ventimiglia) died. Hidden Remote opined that the series’ avid viewers should give Jack’s death a rest, for now.

The series shocked fans that Jack is no longer alive in its premiere episode. However, his story should not be the only one they should focus on. The outlet noted that they should see the bigger picture in the series. For example, they now understand how Kate’s (Chrissy Metz) insecurities were born.

Another revelation is how Kevin’s (Justin Hartland) inferiority complex developed through the triplet’s dynamic and who can forget that scene where Randall (Sterling K. Brown) battled with his anxiety.

Fans had polarizing views about the This Is Us Season 1 finale. The outlet noted that some were furious about the last episode, Moonshadow. A few even commented that they will boycott the show because rather than revealing the cause of Jack’s death, the series decided to focus on how Jack and Rebecca’s (Mandy Moore) relationship started.

UK Viewers Not Impressed With This Is Us?

Meanwhile, The Guardian reported that the This Is Us Season 1 finale just aired on Channel 4 in the UK and the response was not exactly the same as US viewers. The outlet noted that UK viewers were not particularly enthralled with the series like how This Is Us affected its US viewers.

The latter report notes that one of the possible reasons is Channel 4’s decision to put it in a later timeslot. The British channel airs the series at 10:35 PM, which is too late for the series’ target audience.

Despite that, the outlet notes that This Is Us is a great show, similar to another US television series, Friday Night Lights. Moreover, the source notes that the NBC hit series “celebrates the ordinary rhythms of family life and the unflashy joys of loving.” It also features the usual emotions parents or siblings feel about their family dynamics.

This Is Us premiered on Sept. 20, 2016. After airing its first episode, NBC picked up the series for a full season of 18 episodes. Because of the viewer’s overwhelming response, on January 2017, NBC renewed the series through to its third season.

There is still no word on when This Is Us Season 2 will air its premiere episode. Do you already have a storyline in mind on what Season 2 Episode 1 should be? Share them with us!
