The Voice 2016: Hits and Misses of Live Semi-Final Performances

The Voice 2016 is inching closer to the finale performances. Four judges Miley Cyrus, Alicia Keys, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton have been successful in bringing best to the fore. The live semi-final performances have brought out some scintillating singing performances by contestants.

The Voice 2016 featured both solo performances and duet performances by the four different teams. The eight contestants are Christian Cuevas, Aaron Gibson, Wé McDonald, Ali Caldwell, Brendan Fletcher, Josh Gallagher, Sundance Head, and Billy Gilman.

The Voice 2016: Top Semi-Final Performances

The episode started off with Christian Cuevas’ performance of To Worship I Live. He put everything together in the song, moving from just a performance to a heartfelt rendition of a Christian song by Israel & the New Breed. Cuevas surprised everyone by breaking into Spanish as well. He took a place in the top four for the day!

Billy Gilman’s I Surrender took the premiere position in iTunes Charts. The soulful song by Celine Dion was given a fresh twist with Gilman’s vocals. He represents Team Adam Levine in the show. Boy, the stretching of the vocal chords is unbelievable!

Other top performances in the live semi-final were Blake Shelton team member Sundance Head’s version of Love Can Build a Bridge and Team Adam’s Josh Gallagher who sang Danny’s Song by Kenny Loggins.

Misses of the Semi-Final Performances

Things may not be looking too good for the ones who did not make it to the top 4. Team Miley seems to be having a tough time staying put in the competition. Two of her contestants were on the list of least impressive performances.

Ali Caldwell sang a rendition of I Will Always Love You and Aaron Gibson sang a rusty rendition of Everything I Do, I Do it for You. Also seen in the bottom four performances was a surprising entry of We McDonald, who is one of the favorites to take the title.

The rankings are based on how well the performances have reflected in the iTunes Charts. One will have to wait and see which semi-finalists will end up going home and the ones who will head to the finale.
