The Vampire Diaries Season 8: Finale Teaser Shows Elena’s Return Might Cost Bonnie’s Life

It’s finally here. The Vampire Diaries season 8 finale is airing on March 10 and fans couldn’t be any more excited. The anticipation for the last episode is infectious, moreso when that clip of Elena showed that she’s awake and Damon saw her. Read on below for more details of the newest teaser. There might be some possible spoilers so scroll down at your own risk.

The Vampire Diaries Season 8: Elena’s Return

In the previous episode of The Vampire Diaries season 8, Caroline and Stefan finally marry. What everyone thought was only a setup for Katherine to come out of hiding eventually turned into a real wedding and all is well. Until of course Katherine is actually revealed to set the Lockwood house on fire.

This results to Bonnie getting caught in the fire. Although Josie and Elizabeth save her, the last shot we saw of Bonnie is her falling to the ground. This immediately has everyone come to the worst conclusion: she’s going to die.

In the clip that Entertainment Tonight revealed, we see Damon and Stefan entering their house and talking about what Katherine did, only to stop when they find Elena’s coffin open. Stefan brings up how Bonnie’s heart stopped earlier and that’s when Elena enters in her blue dress sounding so confused as she says Damon’s name out loud.

So, what does this all mean? Is Elena back because Bonnie died? Or is Elena back only briefly and Bonnie has a chance to recover? Or can we all just win in this situation and have both girls back? We’ll only have to watch the finale to find out.

Reminiscing The Vampire Diaries

Though the show hasn’t ended yet and we still have one more episode to go, we still can’t help but reminisce about The Vampire Diaries back when it started.

Hollywood Life recently spoke to the director of the show’s pilot episode Marcos Siega. Siega shared that he and Nina Dobrev would do auditions in his home and read lines with so many Stefans and Damons. They would do screen tests but none of those auditioning seemed to fit.

But then in came Ian Somerhalder, and Siega knew Damon fit him so well. He describes the moment as just something clicking and he goes “That’s it.” Siega concluded that nobody else is going to do a better Damon except for Ian.

Siega said the same thing of Paul Wesley. He says they got lucky with him since he “embodied” mystery and darkness, something that Stefan Salvatore is in the first season.

Are you ready for The Vampire Diaries season 8 finale? In the meantime, here’s a clip of Elena and Damon briefly reunited. Don’t forget to catch it the last episode on The CW at 8/7c.
