Stranger Things Season 2: Bringing In M. Night Shyamalan Can Be The Best Thing Ever

M. Night Shyamalan is no stranger to sci-fi supernatural elements. His works like Wayward PinesThe Sixth Sense, and The Happening proved his prowess in the thriller field. So it is no surprise that he has expressed interest in directing an episode of Stranger Things season 2.

M. Night Shyamalan and The Duffer Brothers

Fans are already excited for the second season of the successful sci-fi horror series from Netflix. The first season closed with plenty of cliffhangers and unanswered questions. Many are wondering if Eleven (portrayed by Millie Bobby Brown) is alive. Slash Film already reported that the second season is going to be bigger and darker than the first. One of the producers, Shawn Levy, confirmed as much.

“Season 2 is bigger and darker,” Levy said, “The threat from the first season has grown.”

For those who are unaware, M. Night Shyamalan and the Duffer brothers, the creators of Stranger Things, have worked together in the past. The Duffer brothers made their TV debut in Wayward Pines and Shyamalan is interested on working with them again.

“The boys did Wayward Pines with me before,” Shyamalan said, “I told them ‘You can hire me back, guys!'”

What To Expect With M. Night Shyamalan As Director

Fans can expect plenty of twists with M. Night Shyamalan directing an episode or two of Stranger Things. He has produced classics like The Sixth Sense and The Village. Both movies are notorious for their plot twists and thriller factor. If the Duffer brothers let him in the set, fans may be able to see Shyamalan’s prowess that he showed in his movies.

Nothing much is known about the plot of the second season. With Shawn Levy’s confirmation of a darker comeback, fans are already looking forward to season 2. It might a great idea to bring a director who brought notable sci-fi thriller films in Hollywood. The Duffer brothers successfully brought a creepy factor in Stranger Things. With Shyamalan on board, there will be a huge possibility that the show’s scare factor will increase. With no confirmation from Netflix or the Duffer brothers themselves, fans can only wait for an update.
