Scandal Season 6 Premiere Photos: Mellie Possibly Next US President

Scandal season 6 is almost upon us! With almost two weeks of waiting time to go, many fans are stoked to see the turnout of the elections.

President Fitzgerald Grant III (Tony Goldwyn) is finally leaving the White House after countless of scandals and generally bad decisions triggered by his personal interests. More interestingly, the head-to-head battle between #TeamOlivia and #TeamCyrus, will finally end.

There have been several updates about the show’s season 6 premiere, including how it will be entitled Survival of the Fittest. The premiere will revolve around the announcement and will pose a “shocking and explosive outcome.” If you’ve been following the show since day 1, you could assume that “explosive” can be taken literally.

TV Line notes that show creator Shonda Rhimes promises the election results to be revealed “within the first 10 minutes” of the premiere. She also spoke out Olivia, Jake, and Fitz’ future.

“We’ve established over the course of five seasons that Olivia Pope is on an evolutionary journey. That journey has nothing to do with the boys,” she said. She also dismissed what seemed to be a growing sexual tension between Mellie and Marcus (Cornelius Smith Jr.) that only distracts the potential first lady POTUS from her “very high priorities.”

Rhimes also teased about Huck (Guillermo Diaz) and Quinn’s (Katie Lowes) relationship. Saying they will “find themselves in situations they’ve never been in before.” Could this spell out an unexpected romantic twist for the two fiery characters?
