Rick And Morty Season 3 – Release Date Delayed Again!

This will do nothing to quell your hunger, but it looks like we have a possible release date for Rick and Morty Season 3. Contrary to previous propositions that the third season will air in January, March and April, new reports are saying it’s further delayed to June 2017.

The cause of the delay? Development issues. Don’t worry, though, remember we had a teaser from staff writer Mike McMahan that they’re already recording voice over for Season 3’s Episode 1?

Delay In Rick And Morty Season 3 Writing

Rick and Morty Season 3 was supposed to air before 2016 ends. Or at least, that was the initial plan we heard from Adult Swim. When it didn’t air by December, we felt that it would be released in January, then in April, and now, it looks like we have until June to figure things out.

Show creator Dan Harmon said the fault was his because he and Justin Roiland were taking such a long time writing the episodes. When they were finally finished, Harmon threw the ball to the animation team, saying that it will take a while to draw every scene and animate them.

He likes reminding fans, though, that it would do them no good to badger him and Roiland on Twitter. He explained that since Rick and Morty is an animated series, everything has to be on paper. Okay, we couldn’t argue with that.

They did release the opening scene on Adult Swim Australia, so fans got more excited than ever. All episodes are set to be completed this September. There may be a few hiccups here and there, but nothing should stop that June release.

Rick And Morty Writers Humored George R.R. Martin

Harmon and Roiland know the pressure coming from overzealous fans. So, what they did is: throw some of that to Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin. The long-awaited The Winds of Winter, his sixth book in the A Song of Ice and Fire series, has been delayed for more than a decade.

If you think the two-year waiting time for Rick and Morty Season 3 is tough, try being a GoT avid reader now. They have been waiting for more than a decade for this sixth book. Naturally, the official Rick and Morty Twitter account trolled Martin.

“Where’s the new Game of Thrones book, George RR Martin? Making us wait this long is TORTURE. SHAME SHAME SHAME ON YOU. WRITE FASTER.” Are these the same sentiments Harmon and Roiland have been receiving from Rick and Morty Season 3 fans?
