When the first episode of Rick and Morty Season 3 did not premiere as expected on Jan. 9, many of the show’s fans were disappointed. What could possibly be delaying the airing of one of the most anticipated animated series today? Could it be that the production hasn’t even started yet?
We all know that the script was finished, and that animation for the series started late last year. In fact, the premiere was supposed to be last December, a fitting way to celebrate the holidays for Rick and Morty’s fans. As we all know, that didn’t happen.
Rick and Morty Season 3 possible air date in March?
When IMDB listed Jan. 9 as the premiere of Rick and Morty Season 3, fans waited all-day-long despite a denial from series creator Justin Roiland. Now, we’re hearing another rumor, one that could possibly be the truest among all air dates. It is said that the series will start airing its episodes in March (no exact date yet).
Or then again, it may air this April, as forecasted by Mr. Poopy Butthole. There is no official confirmation from Roiland or Dan Harmon, another of the series’ creators, so we’re left hanging about the truth.
For the meantime, we have a sneak peek Adult Swim released back in December about what could happen to Rick and Morty in Season 3.
In the three-minute teaser, we saw the genius Rick Sanchez pulling his grandson, Morty, from school. They will embark on exciting new adventures, including a Star Wars-themed plot and Rick’s turning into a pickle, that would surely excite, frustrate, and amaze their fans.
Rick and Morty comic book
Here is what fans can busy themselves with until Season 3 airs: a Rick and Morty special edition comic book that includes vignettes and the first part of The Wubba Lubba Dub Dub of Wall Street. This special issue wants to reintroduce fans to the current comic book world of Rick and Morty, which is separate from the animated series.
Aside from that, fans can speculate what happened to Rick at the end of Season 2. How did he escape from prison? We can clearly see in the sneak peek for Rick and Morty Season 3 that Rick is free to roam around with Morty again.
