Master Of None Season Returns On May 12; Synopsis, Trailer And Everything To Know

Master Of None Season 2 Release Date Announced

Aziz Ansari shared exciting news about his comedy series, Master of None. The actor announced on his Twitter account that Master of None’s sophomore season will premiere on May 12, 2017.

According to Independent, Netflix released the official synopsis of Ansari’s series. Based on the synopsis, Dev (Ansari) returns to New York “to take on the  challenges in his personal and family life, and a new career opportunity.” Moreover, he will also deal with a “complex, developing relationship with someone very meaningful to him.”

Meanwhile, in Master of None Season 2 teaser, the video starts showing a picturesque view of a countryside. Later, viewers will see Dev and Arnold (Eric Wareheim) riding a motorcycle. The outlet notes that it looks like the two characters are traversing rural Italy.

The source notes that in the comedy series’ last episode, Dev decided to move to Italy and study pasta-making at a culinary school. Since the teaser’s location is in Italy, the outlet notes that it seems Dev did pursue his desire to learn more about pasta-making.

The Master of None follows the life of Dev, “a first-generation American who pays the bills acting in commercials,” as per a Deadline report. Furthermore, the series features different slices of life like commitment, love, race, and family. The outlet notes that the series also tackled the “millennial battle between ambition and obligation.”

The latter report notes that the series was widely received by critics. Moreover, it won a couple of awards: Critic’s Choice Television Award for Best Comedy Series and an Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series.

Master of None picked up its renewal, three months after the 10-episode series aired on Nov. 6, 2015. Ansari and Alan Yang are the creators of this comedy series.

Apart from Ansari and Wareheim, co-stars Noel Wells, Kelvin Yu and Lena Waithe will return to play their respective parts. Ansari’s real-life parents also took on the role of, well, Dev’s parents in the series and will return as well.

Wells plays the role of Rachel, a music publicist, and Dev’s primary romantic interest. Wareheim and Yu are Dev’s friends in the series. Waithe is Dev’s lesbian friend. Netflix will stream all Master of None Season 2 episodes on May 12.
