After an explosive season finale, How To Get Away With Murder fans are waiting with bated breath to find out what happens next. The season 3 finale left viewers with so many questions and so many unexpected turns, in true Shonda Rhimes fashion. The two-hour finale finally revealed Wes’ killer, who were in it in planning, and left fans with barely any hints what to expect when the show returns for its fourth season.

How To Get Away With Murder Season 4: Nowalk Speaks Up About Wes’ Killer
The Hollywood Reporter mentions how the show’s upcoming fourth season will be anything but calm. Picking up from the finale, the outlet notes how creator Pete Nowalk already had Laurel’s dad in mind as the murderer even early on, but ideas only “solidified” during the second half of the season.
“Laurel’s dad was always an option. That’s why I really wanted to introduce him this season, not that I even was sure that Wes was dead at this time, but since the beginning of the show we’ve been talking so much about Laurel’s father and we’ve always dropped hints that he was a big and powerful man,” Nowalk explained.
According to Nowalk, the big reveal of Laurel’s dad being the killer “really opened the door to a whole new world.” While the previous season centered on Annalise, now, viewers will see how things are from “the world of this big powerful telecommunications czar and all the power that he wields,” Nowalk added.

How To Get Away With Murder Season 4 Will Be ‘More Complicated’
Nowalk reveals that the fourth season will just get “more complicated.” When the show returns, questions like, How does Dominic know D. A. Denver? Does Laurel’s father know D. A. Denver too? Is it possible that they know about the Mahoneys? will finally have answers.
“It’s much more complicated than anyone realized,” Nowalk said. Meanwhile, while it seems that the Keating 5 — now 4 🙁 — is off the hook after they pinned the death of Rebecca and Sam on Wes, Nowalk teases that this doesn’t mean it’s over.
“As long as Denver feels threatened enough to not pursue this, their sins are put away for now. That doesn’t mean someone else won’t take up the mantle of the investigation, though” Nowalk teased.
