Grey’s Anatomy Season 13 news are making headlines once again after the show premiered again last week. However, some bad news are now making rounds, as it seems that one of the stars is exiting the show. Actress Jerrika Hinston, who plays Dr. Stephanie Edwards, is reportedly leaving the #TGIT show. What could her departure mean for the rest of the characters? Read on to find out more.
Grey’s Anatomy Season 13 Cast: Jerrika Hinston Leaving The Show
A report from TV Line has revealed that Jerrika Hinston is indeed leaving the show. Since 2012, Hinston played the role of Dr. Stephanie Edwards, and it has been reported that she will not be back as a series regular in the show’s fourteenth season. While this does not come much as a surprise, previous news saying how Hinston will be starring in Alan Ball’s new HBO drama series is said to the be the main reason for her exit.
Previously, Hinton’s exit was rumored too when she was cast in the Shondaland comedy pilot Toast. During that time though, speculations were rife saying how Hinston would be able to “take part in both shows” with a reduction in her Grey’s role. ABC Network eventually passed on the project and kept her at full-time as Dr. Edwards.
Now, many people wonder how Stephanie’s impending absence will be addressed, or if it would be possible to have her return on a “guest-star basis.” An ABC spokesperson declined to comment about this issue as of late.
