Gilmore Girls 2016 is almost here and the fans are trying to hold it all together as they wait to be taken back to Stars Hollow. When news of the Gilmore Girls revival broke out, some fans surely had to binge-watch the entire series. But in case you miss some of the best episodes from the old seasons, here’s a guide for you!
Everyone knows Netflix is the home of some of the best TV shows the industry currently have. The streaming service company is in the business of churning out its own original content, making it an ideal platform for old series to make a comeback.
Thankfully, Netflix decided to revive Gilmore Girls with new episodes. Netflix believes Gilmore Girls 2016 will be a hit like it was nine years ago.
The series revolved around the story of Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham) and her daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel), but of course, they have friends and families as supporting characters.
Season 1, Episode 1 – Pilot
The Pilot, of course. The first episode highlighted Lorelai’s unique relationship with her daughter and her strained connection with her parents. Although Lorelai’s mom, Emily, wasn’t featured in the same degree as hers and Rory’s, Emily was and is still considered a Gilmore girl.
This episode also established Rory’s lofty ambitions and addiction to coffee, as well as Lorelai’s manic but mostly endearing attitude.
Season 1, Episode 21 – Love, Daisies and Troubadours
The entire show revolved around Lorelai and Rory and their love lives. Both of them faced different problems and romance issues so it was nice to see them both frolicking in this episode.
Season 2, Episode 6 – Rory’s Birthday Parties
Rory’s sweet sixteen birthday marked the real start of her teenage years. She got to celebrate twice, one organized by her mother, the other one thrown by her grandmom.
The two parties only revealed the differences between Lorelai and Emily, and how the latter knew little about her granddaughter.
Season 4, Episode 2 – Rory’s First Day at Yale
Fans missed Rory’s first day at high school; the storyline was an important milestone to witness. But viewers got to see her arrival at the Yale campus, which made deep-rooted fans feel so proud.
Season 5, Episode 7 – You Jump, I Jump, Jack
Although Rory made some surprising yet interesting choices in Season 5’s first few episodes, she still managed to somehow stay in her shell, something the fans love about her.
This episode showed how Logan tried to challenge Rory. It’s the first time fans saw Rory pushed herself to this point and it was a breakthrough seeing her try new things.
TV Guide has noted that the all new episodes in the revival will give fans a glimpse of how domesticated Lorelai’s life is and how Rory ventures into her journalism dreams.
