Who aren’t excited to see a young Sheldon Cooper in The Big Bang Theory? We’ve heard about plans for the young Sheldon Cooper in the past, but it’s only now that the plot is getting clearer.
CBS and Warner Bros are working on a prequel for the life of Dr. Sheldon Cooper, the character Jim Parsons plays in the original The Big Bang Theory. Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady, the co-creators of Big Bang, will be the same ones behind this new project. Although there was no confirmation yet, Iain Armitage (Big Little Lies) is being tapped to play the young Sheldon.
The Plot Thickens In The Big Bang Theory
We would be happy to know that Scandal’s Zoe Perry might play Sheldon’s mom, Mary Cooper, in the spinoff of The Big Bang Theory. She will have some big shoes to fill because Laurie Metcalf was the one who played Sheldon’s mom in the original series.
Her 11 appearances in the original The Big Bang Theory earned her an Emmy nomination. Imagine, just 11 appearances and an Emmy nomination already. Too bad, we wouldn’t be able to see Metcalf play the role more lengthily.
According to reports, the show, which CBS Chairman-CEO Leslie Moonves call Little Sheldon, will focus on the childhood life of Sheldon. Can you picture it already?
Moonves revealed that the spinoff will see Sheldon as a 10-year-old genius living with his mother and younger sister in Texas. He would grow up in a very right-wing family that would have to get used with a genius living in their household. Mary, Sheldon’s mother, is believed to be a very religious woman.
It’s a terrific script from Big Bang showrunner Steven Molaro, Moonves said. Little Sheldon will most probably air right after the original series. There is no pilot order yet for the show, but we’re expecting Season 1 to have 13 episodes.
What’s Up With The Big Bang Theory Cast?
We all know that the next season for The Big Bang Theory is still in limbo. Negotiations with actresses and mainstays Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch are still underway. Last week, we’ve heard that both actors want to receive the same amount per episode as the original five cast.
We say, bring it on! Why should Bialik and Rauch receive less than Parsons and the rest of the gang? Although they entered the series in Season 3, they are as important now to the storyline as Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg, and Kunal Nayyar. Each of these five are supposedly receiving $1 million for every episode of The Big Bang Theory.
