FOX’s hit hiphop drama series Empire Season 3 spoilers are aplenty owing to the show taking a long break. The mid season finale aired last Dec. 14. The show will take a bit of a while to air again when it comes back on March. Even so, there have been interesting new turning points within the Lyon family.
In the last episode, it was seen that Jamal (Jussie Smollett) was heading to rehab after Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) saw him struggling with his addiction. Moreover, Lucious’ (Terrence Howard) safety does not seem certain with the FBI keeping a closer eye on him and his family. Interestingly, has Cookie decided to leave Lucious for Angelo (Taye Diggs) despite finding out about Angelo’s DUI incident? Empire producer Sanaa Hamri teases fans what to expect!
Empire season 3 spoilers: Cookie now undecided about Angelo
Empire‘s last episode revealed Lucious and Angelo’s Mom Diana (Phylicia Rashad) cutting a deal. While it was not initially revealed what Diana wanted, Lucious kept his word in exchange for winning Cookie back, as Diana promised him. However, Diana suddenly backed out and this triggered Lucious to get back at her for not being true to her word.
Towards the end of the episode, it was revealed that Diana wanted to keep her son’s DUI incident under the wraps. However, Lucious exposed Angelo to a local reporter. Apparently, Angelo was not only driving under the influence. He left a girl to die as he tried to save himself when the car crash happened. By the look on Cookie’s face, it seems as though she still wants Angelo by her side, but will she be strong enough to accept what Angelo did in the past?

Empire season 3 spoilers: Jamal goes to rehab
In Hamri’s interview with Variety, she explains how fans will see Jamal in rehab. He will undergo therapy for his drug addiction.
“We’re going to go through the journey of an artist who is addicted to pain medication, and we’ll see if he’s able to overcome those demons and get through it. That is going to be very much part of Jamal’s story,” she said. While it seemed as if Jamal felt that his mother went behind his back by sending him to rehab, Jamal’s mindset about his addiction has yet to be revealed.
