DuckTales 2017 News, Updates: Reboot Coming To Disney XD Next Year

DuckTales 2017 — Quackaroonie! Huey, Louie, and Dewey are coming back for more crazy adventures. Disney has announced that the cartoon series, which ran for four seasons during the end of the 80s, is heading back to the small screen in the summer of 2017. In Feb. 2015, Walt Disney announced the reboot as a go but has never made any follow up until recently. To make the wait a little more bearable, Disney dropped a 15-second teaser that made fans excited even more. Read on to know more what to expect from the new cartoon reboot from Disney XD.

Despite speculations about the show not pushing through, Disney definitely trumped all rumors with the newly released teaser. Though it doesn’t show much except for the iconic show’s logo and its popular theme song, this was enough for fans to get excited. Almost 20 years later since the show first aired, then-kids are thrilled to see Scrooge McDuck and his grandnephews Huey, Louie, and Dewey in new episodes.

DuckTales 2017 synopsis

A report from Slash Film revealed that new series won’t differ much from the original. The plot, as per a statement, will revolve greatly on the lives of Scrooge McDuck and his grandnephews. Further, the statement read: “Scrooge McDuck, his curious and mischief-making grandnephews—Huey, Dewey, and Louie—and the optimistic-yet-temperamental Donald Duck embark on high-flying adventures worldwide.”

Other beloved characters slated to be in the new stories are: Duckworth, Gyro Gearloose, Launchpad McQuack, Flintheart Glomgold, Magica DeSpell & Poe, Ma Beagle and the Beagle Boys (Burger Beagle, Bouncer Beagle), Mrs. Beakley, and Webbigail Vanderquack.

DuckTales 2017 vs Original DuckTales

The original DuckTales series aired from 1987 to 1990 as part of  The Disney Afternoon daily cartoon block. It was because of this series that movies like Chip ‘n Dale Rescue RangersTalespinDarkwing Duck, and DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp came to be.

Based on a report from the same source, the upcoming Disney reboot’s first season was ordered for a 21-episode run, plus two hour-long specials.
