Dragon Ball Super updates have been making headlines owing to recent news about the English dubbed version being available on Toonami starting next year. Moreover, spoilers for episodes 70, 71, and 72 have become more interesting. Reports have mentioned that these three episodes point to lead character Goku’s death, as the show becomes more intense due to recent happenings. What is in store for the trio of episodes that makes them very interesting? Read on to find out so you don’t miss out.
Dragon Ball Super updates: episodes 70, 71, 72 spoilers
In a recent report from News Everyday, the show will have interesting turnabouts during episodes 70, 71, and 72. Fans are definitely in for a surprise, as episode 70 will conclude the animated series’ current arc. That said, the next episodes will feature the return of Yamcha, Bulma’s ex-lover and Puar’s best friend.
As per the same publication, Dragon Ball Super episode 70 will be entitled Champa’s Challenge! This Time We Face Off in Baseball and is expected to be more of a lighthearted and fun episode. After this episode, the show is expected to take on “a darker plot” that will begin with episode 71 that will re-introduce Yamcha on the show. It should be noted that he died in the Saiyan saga which, according to reports, made fans mock his character.
For that reason, the DBS creators rebuilt Yamcha’s character into a baseball player, rather than a fighter in the current series. Prior to his return, the introduction of a new arc will involve a new assassin who is after Goku.

Dragon Ball Super updates: new arc teases Goku’s Death?
Unconfirmed reports reveal that DBS episode 71 will be entitled, Goku Dies! Assassination Order That Must Be Performed. While this is much to take in, with the alleged plot surrounding the end of the show’s main protagonist, this announcement must be taken with a grain of salt since the news has neither been confirmed nor denied to date. Rumor has it that the two new villains, including the assassin previously mentioned, want Goku dead.
Dragon Ball Super episode 71 will air on Dec. 18, while episode 72, allegedly entitled Counter-Attack? An Invisible Assassination Skill will air on Dec. 25.
Dragon Ball Super updates: English dub announced
In more interesting news, fans will be more than excited to know that Adult Swim will be airing English dubbed episodes of Dragon Ball Super “during the network’s Toonami block” starting next month. Starting Jan. 7, DBS dubbed in English will be aired at 8PM and 11:30PM ET. Toonami will start airing the remaining season 1 episodes following each Saturday.
Another report from GameSpot revealed that “the series’ first new storyline in almost 20 years” will feature the involvement of creator, Akira Toriyama. Funimation is responsible for the US English dub, which features an all-star cast of DBS voice actors from other Dragon Ball series. The same source mentions the participation of Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F actors Christopher R. Sabat (Vegeta), Seán Schemmel (Goku), Jason Douglas (Beerus), Ian Sinclair (Whis), and Sonny Strait (Krillin) as all being involved.
