Dancing With The Stars Season 24 Host Negotiates A Truce Between William Shatner, Nick Viall

The Dancing With The Stars Season 24 is starting to get hot, but not on the dance floor! William Shatner asked for his Twitter followers’ help to have The Bachelor star Nick Viall off the competition. Meanwhile, DWTS host Tom Bergeron tries to negotiate a truce.

William Shatner Wants Nick Viall Out Of DWTS

ABC’s Dancing With The Stars Season 24 premiered last Monday, March 20. Stars like Heather Morris, Mr. T, Olympian Simone Biles and The Bachelor star Nick Viall are some of the contestants this season.

Rather than talk about the dance moves and the contestants’ costumes, William Shatner’s plea online, which is to boot Viall off the show, caught the public’s interest. CINEMABLEND reported that the Star Trek actor started using his Twitter account to instruct his followers not to vote for Viall.

On his Twitter page, the Canadian actor petitioned to his more than two million followers to vote for other Dancing With the Stars contestants but not Viall. Shatner even gave the numbers for them to vote contestants like Biles, actress Charo, and Glee star Heather Morris.

The outlet notes that someone asked the Boston Legal star why he wants Viall out of the competition. Shatner replied, “Watch Andi’s Bachelorette Season where he started this Viall journey.”

On the other hand, Us Weekly reports that Dancing With the Stars host Tom Bergeron tried to call for a truce between Shatner and Viall. The outlet notes that in light of the A Twist in the Tale star’s birthday, Bergeron posted a tweet wishing Shatner a happy birthday.

The host also included the question: “Any chance I can negotiate a truce between you & @viallnicholas28?” The latter report notes that neither Shatner nor Viall replied to Bergeron’s tweet.

Dancing With The Stars Peta  Murgatroyd Reacts To Shatner’s Post

The source notes that Viall is aware of Shatner’s petition to kick him off the show and he responded with “a simple sad face.” Viall’s dancing partner, Peta Murgatroyd also expressed her sadness with Shatner’s plea.

The Miss Congeniality star responded to Murgatroyd’s tweet saying that he loves her but unfortunately, “just can’t cheer you on this season.” A fan tried to suggest letting Viall win DWTS’ Mirrorball trophy so he doesn’t have to return the next season. Shatner objected, “No! He needs to go next week.”
