The upcoming Criminal Minds Season 12 episode reveals that the BAU’s new case will take them to the Arizona Desert. In Episode 19’s trailer, Stephen (Damon Gupton) tells Emily (Paget Brewster) that their new unsub is killing its victims one by one “over time.”

In the next scene, Luke (Adam Rodriguez) explains to the team how the killer ends his victims’ lives. Jennifer (A.J. Cook) tells Luke, “that’s a sundial.” Luke confirms and says that the killer did a life-size version. reports that Episode 19 titled True North does not have much in its synopsis. However, the latter report notes that the upcoming episode is directed by Criminal Minds Season 12 cast member Mantegna.

The outlet notes this is Mantegna’s second time this season to take over the director’s post. Moreover, the outlet opines that Mantegna seems to have grown comfortable with his role that he is also able to direct one or two episodes per season.

On the other hand, the source notes that after Episode 19’s release, Criminal Minds Season 12 will go on a two-week hiatus. In addition, they will air their 20th episode titled Unforgettable on April 26. After that, the series will only have one more episode before it airs the episode finale for Season 12.

Will There Be A Criminal Minds Season 13?

The publication reports that there seems to be some uncertainty whether Criminal Minds Season 13 will happen or not. The source notes that the crime procedural drama is one of the few series that was not included in CBS’ renewal announcement last week.

The outlet hopes that CBS will announce Criminal Minds’ renewal before the show airs its episode finale. A previous Tripped Media article reported that Shemar Moore announced his return to Criminal Minds Season 12 finale.

The actor made the announcement on his Facebook page by sharing an article that confirms his appearance in the show. The outlet notes that Moore’s Derek Morgan will help his former team solve the “Mr. Scratch serial killer case.”

Meanwhile, Moore’s fans can’t help but feel excited about the Criminal Minds alum’s news. Moreover, they can’t wait to see Moore reunite with his Baby Girl (Kirsten Vangsness). Moore exited the show in Season 11.
