CBS Picks Up Blue Bloods Season 8; Frank Faces A New Dilemma

Blue Bloods Season 8 is signed, sealed and delivered. CBS announced the crime procedural’s renewal along with 17 other shows that are for renewal. Meanwhile, Frank faces a dilemma when one of his peers refuses to retire.

Fans can now stop worrying and start enjoying the remaining episodes of Blue Bloods Season 7. The show’s network, CBS announced on March 23 that it will renew the Tom Selleck series to its eighth season. TV Series Finale reports that that Blue Bloods top the list of 18 shows for renewal.

The outlet notes that apart from Blue Bloods, the network also renewed Michael Weatherley’s Bull, the entire NCIS franchise, comedy show Kevin Can Wait and a few more. The publication reports that Blue Bloods Season 7 is averaging a 1.19 rating in the 18-49 demographic. This, more or less, connotes that about 10.12 million viewers tuned in to the CBS police drama.

However, the source notes that the show’s seventh season ratings are not something to be proud of for the Blue Bloods team. Compared with their sixth season ratings, they are down by four percent. Though the series still has three more episodes to air before concluding their 20-episode series.

Blue Bloods Season 7 Episode 18 Spoilers

In other Blue Bloods Season 7 news, the show’s 18th episode will air on March 31. The episode titled A Deep Blue Goodbye will feature Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) investigating the “circumstances of an ex-NYPD officer who goes missing.” reports that according to the synopsis, the police officer plans to make amends to the woman she and partner wrongfully convicted years ago. While Danny is busy, his father Frank (Tom Selleck) also has some issues to deal with.

Frank faces a problem with Chief Taylor Daniels (Isaiah Washington). The outlet notes that Chief Taylor time in the service is over. He has already hit the “mandatory age limit,” but he does not want to retire.

While the upcoming episode is intriguing and will be full of action and suspense, the outlet opined that they want to see a bigger story feature for Wahlberg’s character. The source suggested that Blue Bloods writers can maybe have him go on an undercover mission.

Another plot worth developing is the Jamie-Eddie romance. The outlet notes that Jamie (Will Estes) and Eddie (VanessaRay) shippers are waiting for the couple’s next move when it comes to their relationship. The two police officers have discussed their feelings, but have not really taken the next step.
