Xperia XZs: The Millennial iPhone Killer or Just a Regular Smartphone

We all love the iPhone 7 camera but sometimes Apple is just not your thing. Samsung might have great new models but maybe you want to look at something else. So what other feature-rich snappers can we look at? Enter the Sony Xperia XZs, with a camera that we absolutely adore.

The Xperia XZ was a hit to its loyal Sony fanbase, but we soon found out that its video capabilities – though highly capable – were limited in the super slow motion department. However, the new rendition of the Sony Xperia XZ, the Xperia XZs has fixed that problem well.

Xperia XZs Technical Specifications and Features

Here are some of the more notable Sony Xperia XZs specifications, according to GSMarena:

Primary camera: 19 MP, f/2.0, 25mm, EIS (gyro), predictive phase detection and laser autofocus, LED flash

Features: /2.3″ sensor size, geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, HDR, panorama

Secondary camera: 13 MP, f/2.0, 22mm, 1/3″ sensor size, 1.12 µm pixel size, 1080p

Video: 2160p@30fps, 720p@960fps, HDR

And that’s not all, according to the same source, it is a power house of a phone with a Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 chipset and a CPU that is definitely more powerful than your average smartphone. It flaunts a Quad-core (2×2.15 GHz Kryo & 2×1.6 GHz Kryo) CPU and in the graphics department an Adreno 530.

If these specifications are not enough for you, the whole phone is IP68 certified meaning that you will not accidentally break it by dropping it 1.5 meters into the pool (or in the desert sand – now who would manage to do that?) As long as it’s not for over half an hour. Now that’s what we call real protection.

Sony Xperia XZs the Future of Sony?

We beg to differ. It seems like at the time of this writing Sony is still sporting the same designs over and over again. Although, many will argue that the iPhone 7 is relatively familiar to the iPhone family and the Samsung Galaxy still looks very Samsung-y. They still look more aesthetically pleasing than this beast from Sony, at least that’s what we feel towards it.

However, on price to features ratio, this phone is relatively priced for its feature set and is certainly a consideration for everyone.
