Everyone played their parts in one of the most memorable WWE TLC 2016 events. Tables, ladders, chairs… and titles were on the line as AJ Styles sealed his victory in a memorable and interesting match at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
Who would have thought that we were going to see one of the most interesting main events in WWE TLC history? The kickoff show was an unforgettable experience that it almost feels like it never happened. American Alpha and The Hype Bros are good, don’t get me wrong, but there were no standing feuds and no new moves to make the fight even a little bit motivating.
WWE TLC 2016 will have two new champions
WWE TLC 2016 have new tag-team champions in the personas of Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt. Though the match was a little too easy, we were glad to see Orton doing some incredible moves on Heath Slater and Rhyno. The win was a rather expected RKO, though what we didn’t expect was that hint of Orton turning against Bray and Luke Harper.
Unfortunately, that didn’t turn into another fight because an Orton vs Bray showdown would make for good TV. Let’s see if we’ll get to see something akin to this on WWE Smackdown.
AJ Styles is still the WWE TLC 2016 champion
There were so many great moments during the WWE TLC 2016 rift between Styles and Dean Ambrose, but none beats that appearance of James Ellsworth who caused Ambrose the title. Ellsworth kicked Ambrose off the ladder just as he was about to reach for the belt. Not many were fond of Ellsworth’s appearance, though it’s a personal favorite.
Of course, by that time, Styles was already poised to win, thanks to a variety of offensive mechanics that were simply too much for Ambrose. Don’t get me wrong, Ambrose was brilliant on his own, but Styles was just on another level.
There were a bunch of awards given out during the WWE TLC 2016. Here is the list of winners: The Randy Savage Award for Best Mic Work (The Miz), Steamboat-Savage Award for Best Match (Styles vs. Ambrose), and The Rock Award for Best Overall Performance (AJ Styles).
