Every year, the Super Bowl is the most-watched television event. Not even another event comes close enough. This year, we watched Tom Brady with the greatest comeback in history to beat the Patriots in overtime. We’re also treated to some of the best Super Bowl LI commercials.
Companies go all the way out for these commercials each year. They do their best to roll out the best commercials to win over viewers and get the people talking. The unspoken common theme for this year is all about the importance of diversity in Trump’s anti-immigrant America.
Budweiser’s Super Bowl LI commercials Is Incredibly Political
News headlines are being dominated by Trump’s immigration policies, so it’s only fitting that one of the Super Bowl LI commercials spoke about it. Budweiser told the story of Adolphus Busch who came from America to Germany. Busch was eventually a co-founder of Budweiser.
Coca-Cola re-aired its 2014 commercial with America the Beautiful being sung in the background. What’s emphatic about this ad is that the song was done in multiple languages. However, Trump supporters immediately went on Twitter to call on netizens to #BoycottCoke. Apparently, for them, only English should be spoken in the US.
Not that you need more if you already have pop superstar Justin Bieber dancing around with #UnlimitedMoves. Adding Rob Gronkowski and Terrell Owens into the mix made T-Mobile’s ad more sparkly and funny, at the same time.
The black-and-white commercial stood out from the rest of the brightly-lit ads. In the video, Lady Gaga talked about the power of rebellion, identity, and creativity. That makes such an interesting contrast to her amazing halftime show.
Stranger Things Season 2
This is the only TV preview we have been waiting for. The whole crew of Stranger Things is finally bringing back Upside Down, Eleven, and the demogorgons. To say, we cannot wait is an understatement.
That We Accept commercial from Airbnb is certainly the most powerful videos out of all. The main line from the 30-second clip is this: “We believe no matter who you are, where you’re from, who you love, or who you worship, we all belong. The world is more beautiful the more you accept.”
Do you remember Airbnb’s response to Trump’s anti-immigration policies? It prepared to welcome for free people who were stranded in different parts of the world because they are not American in Trump’s standard.
The ad, probably the most controversial out of all Super Bowl LI commercials, showed a Spanish-speaking mother and daughter. They were travelling from Mexico to the United States when they saw a door on a large border between the countries.
