Football transfers can get tedious and disheartening sometimes. Not to mention, the furor and disappointments. Antoine Griezmann to Manchester United is the latest one.
Transfer news from the grapevine can be as audacious as Messi coming to Manchester City to Joey Barton going to Barcelona. However, they rarely materialize. The Real Madrid dreams are rife among many players, but not everyone will make the cut. Aubameyang fancies a Real Madrid move, but Perez has the final say. In case of Antoine Griezmann to Manchester United, the situation is quite lucid actually.
Antoine Griezmann To Manchester United
Why not? The French striker is one of the best prospects in the world football, to say the least. Grew up a David Beckham supporter, wears a number 7 and he’s best mates with Pogba. Too surreal? Moreover, Theo Griezmann won’t stop throwing subtle hints. Both the brothers hold Manchester United in high regard for the obvious reasons.
On the flip-side, Manchester United’s position in the league is quite precarious at the moment. Despite enjoying an unbeaten run, top four spots are seemingly hanging in the balance. Express UK reports Griezmann’s alleged take on a move to Old Trafford and it comes with nothing but one condition. Griezmann, for his part, has milestones to achieve and he wants a move that will nurture just that.
His release clause at Atletico Madrid stands at 85.5 million pounds that is peanuts for a club as huge as Manchester United. Not only did the English giants break a world record last year, they might break another with Griezmann’s transfer soon. Mourinho remains coy on the Griezmann move, but doesn’t deny the possibilities too. Turns out, the only thing that might jeopardize this transfer is in the event of Manchester United failing to qualify for European competition.

The French Connection
Griezmann’s close friend and a fellow Frenchman, Pogba, came back to United for a world record fee this season. His second coming has fallen short of expectations, but otherwise, he’s doing just fine. Mourinho’s men are looking effective in front of the goal, enjoying some burgeoning quality of football. Over the hill Zlatan Ibrahimovic might pave way for an incoming Griezmann.
Antoine Griezmann to Manchester United will see a French Connection building up in United’s attack. Frenchman Anthony Martial had an exemplary season under Louis Van Gaal, but hasn’t quite found the flair under Mourinho. Needless to say, he’s highly rated and has shown moments of magic. An United attack under Griezmann, Pogba and Martial with the likes of Mkhitaryan and Rashford looks formidable, indeed.
