Apple will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of its flagship phone soon. The iPhone 8 is what many believe to be the iPhone to commemorate such. Experts have speculated that Apple will go all out and create a revolutionary model to celebrate its decade-long success when they have the iPhone 8 release.
One of these experts is Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities. Kuo revealed, according to 9 to 5 Mac, that Apple will revamp its iPhone lineup next year with a model that has a glass casing and AMOLED display. The rumored device is apparently going to come in three models as well.
iPhone 8 Release to have Three Models
There will be three new models for the iPhone 8 release. Two will be 5.5-inch iPhones and one will be 4.7-inch in size. One of the 5.5-inch iPhones will be the Premium version, which is rumored to sport an OLED display. The other version will offer the typical LCD. The 4.7-inch model iPhone 8 will also have the same LCD display.
The 5.5-inch models are likely to have a dual camera much like the iPhone 7 Plus. The 4.7-inch model will only pack a single camera. Some rumors say that one of the 5.5-inch phones will be called the iPhone 8 Plus. However, take this with a grain of salt as there is no official word yet from Apple.
10th Anniversary Bang
These models, which are supposed to be the iPhone 8 lineup, are expected to create a big buzz for the iPhone’s 10th Anniversary. Kuo added that larger versions of the iPhones are believed to become more popular next fall. The analyst predicts that 65 to 75 percent of iPhones will have dual-camera displays.
Mac Rumors have gathered up more speculations about the iPhone 8 release. One speculated revolutionizing feature is that it will have a glass body and an OLED display. The display will have an integrated Touch ID fingerprint sensor plus the front-facing camera. This integration will allow more room for an edge-to-edge display.
This model will likely be the Premium model that will be sold alongside other iPhone 8 versions—the 4.7-inch one and the other 5.5-inch version. There are speculations that all of these versions will have a curved screen. It is likely though that only the premium iPhone 8 will have this feature.
