Idina Menzel World Tour 2017: Why You Don’t Want To Miss It

Idina Menzel has announced her 2017 World Tour. The Grammy and Tony Award-winning singer will be hitting the road for 50 different cities, also to promote the Beaches movie EP.

Idina Menzel is best known as the original Elphaba on Wicked, as well as the voice of Queen Elsa on Disney’s Frozen. By now, most likely everyone must have at least heard Defying Gravity or Let It Go. But she’s also appeared on Glee, Enchanted, and Rent onscreen. Her theatrical credits include Aida, Funny Girl, and If/Then.

Why You Shouldn’t Miss Her

Why shouldn’t you miss Idina Menzel in concert? Well, if you’ve already heard her singing, you hardly need any more explanation. Menzel’s voice is striking, with a range that covers everything between subtle resonance, and heart-shaking belting. The New York Times said of her, “The sound she creates when she belts in her high soprano register is a primal cry embedded in her being that insists we listen and pay attention.”

Fans who got to see her during her 2015 World Tour were treated to her usual hits. But there were a few surprises as well, such as a capella version of For Good. For that version, Menzel didn’t even need the microphone, displaying her vocal range and volume by filling the stadiums with her voice nonetheless.
