Coldplay Chris Martin Visits Fan Fighting Cancer Before Concert; Where Is The Group Headed Next

Coldplay Chris Martin made April 4 a special day for his group’s avid fan, Ken Valiant Santiago. The Coldplay frontman surprised Santiago by visiting him at the hospital. Meanwhile, if you missed the British rock band’s concert, don’t worry because they still are on tour until the first week of October.

Coldplay Chris Martin Surprises Fan

It was an evening well spent for Coldplay fans seeing the British rock band perform at the Mall of Asia (MOA) Concert Grounds at Pasay, Philippines. However, hours before the official concert, Chris Martin decided to take a side trip to visit Ken Valiant Santiago, a cancer-stricken fan in the hospital.

ABS-CBN News reported that Santiago was overwhelmed with gratitude when he saw Martin at his hospital room. Since Santiago cannot talk because of his condition, he wrote on a whiteboard how happy he is that the rocker visited. The publication reported that the Coldplay frontman asked Santiago which Coldplay song did he want the group to sing later in the concert.

Santiago requested for the track Ink from the group’s sixth album titled Ghost Stories. Martin, impressed with their avid fan’s choice of song, immediately called his bandmates. He asked them to “practice the song” because they would include it in their lineup at the concert. To conclude his visit, Martin gave Santos a few Coldplay merchandise: a shirt, bag and a copy of Coldplay’s latest album, A Head Full of Dreams.

The outlet noted that the meeting happened because of Ken Valiant Santiago’s older brother, Kheil wrote an open letter to the rock band and posted it on his Facebook account. According to the source, Kheil just wanted the band to say “hi” or give a short message to his brother to make him feel better. The source noted that it was Music Management International head Rhizza Pascua who made it happen. She saw Kheil’s post and the rest is history.

Coldplay’s A Heart Full of Dreams Tour Schedule

Meanwhile, if you missed Coldplay’s concert in the Philippines, the band still has a few more around Asia. According to their website, their next stop is in Bangkok, Thailand. After that, they will have a two-day concert in Taiwan at the HSR Taoyuan Station Plaza.

Their last stop for their Asia tour leg is in Japan on April 19. The group will have a one month break before starting it off again in Munich, Germany on June 6. The band’s last stop for their tour will be on October 8 at the Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California. What can you say about the surprise visit Coldplay Chris Martin did for his fan?
