Coachella 2017: Beyonce Performance Cancelled, Who’s A Worthy Replacement

Beyonce is following her doctor’s orders and will not be performing at Coachella 2017. Because of this latest development, Coachella’s producers are now looking for a replacement to headline Beyonce’s April 15 and 22 performance. Some suggest Taylor Swift will be a perfect replacement.

It was a joyous moment for the Carters and their fans when Beyonce announced that she is pregnant with twins last Feb. 1. However, the excitement immediately turns anxiety on whether Mrs. Carter can still perform at Coachella this April.

Beyonce Coachella Performance Cancelled

After weeks of waiting for the announcement, Page Six reports that Beyonce’s Parkwood Entertainment and Coachella’s producer, Goldenvoice released a statement that the singer is not going to be part of the upcoming music and arts festival.

A portion of the statement reads: “Following the advice of her doctors to keep a less rigorous schedule in the coming months, Beyonce has made the decision to forgo performing at the 2017 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival.”

Despite the quite saddening news, Goldenvoices and Parkwood confirmed that Beyonce will definitely headline Coachella 2018. The Crazy In Love singer was initially set to perform on April 15 and 22 this year.

Taylor Swift For Coachella 2017?

With the slot open, Coachella producers have to fill Beyonce’s performance dates. Hollywood Life opines that Taylor Swift will be a great choice. The outlet notes that the singer will be “amazing as a headliner” for the musical event.

Moreover, the source suggested that the music festival will be the perfect time for Swift to release her new music. The outlet noted that the Shake It Off singer has not released a new album for two and a half years.

Should Swift agrees to be a part of the 2017 Coachella, the initial report notes that she will headline the two-weekend festival with Radiohead and Kendrick Lamar. Radiohead will perform on April 14 and 21 while Lamar will be on April 16 and 23. The other performers for the Coachella event include Lorde, Bon Iver, Future and DJ Khaled. The festival will be held in Indio, California.

Meanwhile, Swift has just recently released a new track, I Don’t Wanna Live Forever, with Zayn Malik. The song is part of the Fifty Shades Darker Original Soundtrack. 1989 was the last album released by Swift. The said album topped the music charts in the US, UK, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and Australia.
