Chainsmokers and Coldplay surprised their fans tonight when they performed their newest collaboration track, Something Just Like This. Netizens immediately took to Twitter their views on how the track was debuted and their thoughts about the song.

Chainsmokers And Coldplay Debuted New Collaboration

No one expected it, but almost everyone liked it. The Chainsmokers and British rock band Coldplay debuted their new song, Something Just Like This at the Brit Awards tonight. The American DJ duo posted a tweet on their official Twitter page about what just happened. In one of their tweets, The Chainsmokers told their 1.08 million followers what they felt sharing the stage with Coldplay. The duo tweeted saying, “We are shaking!!”

Later, The Chainsmokers’ Drew Taggart and Alex Pall posted another tweet asking supporters about their newly released track. They attached the Spotify link of their new song. Their supporters were responsive and gave their views about the new track.

One twitter user, @Gxbriellemxry said that he thinks Chainsmokers’ Something Just Like This reveal was quite similar to how they released their older track, Roses. Another Chainsmokers supporter responded to the former’s tweet saying what the American DJs did was called “style.”

Meanwhile, another fan tweeted his observation saying that the new Chainsmokers-Coldplay collaboration’s beat is the same as the duo’s other song, Closer.

On the other hand, other Twitter users were just happy with the new song. Some even said that they already have the song “on repeat.” Others, only have praises for the new track. A Twitter user commented that the song’s “amazing,” while another said she can only describe the song in one word: “perfect.” The Chainsmokers’ particular tweet garnered more than 3,000 likes and 988 retweets.

Chainsmokers To Release New Album By April

Forbes reports that there were claims that The Chainsmokers are working on some new music but no one expected the drop to happen at the Brit Awards. The outlet noted that the public did not expect the track because Taggart and Pall were still busy promoting their other two singles.

The publication reports that Chainsmokers released their song, Paris, last January. On the other hand, the outlet notes that Something Just Like This will be part of their upcoming debut full-length album. The artists’ Twitter header revealed that their album titled Memories Do Not Open will be out on April 7.
