Godzilla 2 Cast: After Millie Bobby Brown, We Now Have Kyle Chandler!

MonsterVerse has an interesting repertoire for the next three years beginning with Godzilla 2. They have landed Kyle Chandler to foster Millie Bobby Brown’s character.

After amassing a whopping 529 million dollars worldwide, it was only obvious that Godzilla gets a sequel. Not only did the 2014’s movie become a commercial success in itself, but also saw the establishment of a franchise in MonsterVerse. Riding on Godzilla‘s success, they are gearing up for the release of Kong: Skull Island in a couple of weeks. They will soon follow it up with Godzilla 2 with the likes of Millie Bobby Brown and Kyle Chandler. Finally juxtaposing the King Kong and Godzilla worlds into Godzilla vs. Kong in 2020. Caught the paradigm, didn’t you?

Godzilla 2: King Of The Monsters

Yes – bigger, better and braggadocious – minus the likes of Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. As Variety reports, the big names from the 2014’s Godzilla won’t reprise their roles. This, in turn, brings us to an aberrant story arc brewing for Millie Bobby Brown and Kyle Chandler’s characters. A formidable father-son duo getting in the wrong side of dire circumstances involving Godzilla. That’s not all, however. Godzilla has company.

You heard that right. Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan and Ghidorah return to wreak havoc in the upcoming sequel. Too many behemoths and too little options at humanity’s disposal. Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. are doing everything in their power to put together a robust ensemble. In that vein, Stranger Things‘ Millie Bobby Brown and Bloodline‘s Kyle Chandler are being cast in Godzilla 2.

On a side note, original director Gareth Edwards was slated to helm the project initially. Gareth withdrew from the role paving way for Michael Dougherty. The Krampus and Trick ‘r Treat director will re-write the script along with MonsterVerse’s writers. If things go as planned, the production should kick-off this Summer in Atlanta. Considering that Legendary has to come good with their March 22, 2019 release date, they might as well start.

Cast Details

Apart from Millie Bobby Brown and Kyle Chandler, Ken Watanabe is likely to reprise his role. Ken plays the role of scientist Ishiro Serizawa, who works closely with a Monarch organization. Besides, his role has connections to the events at Kong: Skull Island too. It seems, Ken’s character is a part of the grand scheme of things culminating to 2020’s Godzilla vs. Kong.

On the other hand, Kyle and Millie’s inclusion should suffice for the anticipation, for now.
