A Whole New Conflict in the Fast 8 Trailer

The Fast and the Furious franchise is renowned for the intense car races, explosions, and importance of family. The Fast 8 trailer began with the Fast Family breaking through a prison building with the police tailing them. To get rid of the police, Ludacris pressed a button and a demolition ball swoops in, wiping out the pursuers. Everything seems to be going greatuntil Vin Diesel smashed his car against Dwayne Johnson’s van, causing the vehicle to crash.

It turns out Vin Diesel, or Dom Toretto in the film, has been ‘brainwashed’ by Charlize Theron’s character, Cipher. With the sudden turn of the events, the Fast Family began to plot on how to get Dom back on their side. But it looks like Charlize Theron is more than willing to make things difficult for the Fast Family.

Kurt Russel also returns as Mr. Nobody. He claimed that Cipher is the “very definition of high-tech terrorism” and that the Fast Family needs all the help they can get to stop her. The help he meant was Deckard Shaw, portrayed by Jason Statham.

Dom Toretto: Good guy turned bad

Fans wonder on why the father figure of the Fast Family suddenly turned bad. The Fast 8 trailer did not reveal it, but it looks like the Fast Family will go to the ends of the planet just to bring Dom Toretto back. With former antagonist Deckard Shaw on board, fans are curious on how things will turn out.

Was Dom Toretto brainwashed by Cipher? Or was he just acting to get on her good side? Everything will be revealed once The Fate of the Furious or Fast 8 hits the theaters on April 14, 2017.
