5 Movies 2017 To Watch Out For This Year

We’re done with the awards season, so it’s now time to look forward to the possible blockbuster movies 2017. From La La Land to Moonlight to Manchester by the Sea, we were treated to some Oscar-caliber acting.

But after the awards season, we’re now stuck with our favorite mainstream films. They may not win awards, but they sure do entertain us, right?

Looking Forward To Star Wars: The Last Jedi For Movies 2017

Anything with the name Star Wars on its title should automatically be must-watched movies 2017, right? Star Wars: The Last Jedi is the second installment in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, following Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The story will begin after the last scene on The Force Awakens. There isn’t much we know about the plot and storyline. A short clip showed Rey (Daisy Ridley) handling Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) her lightsaber after Luke asked her, “Who are you?”

Thor: Ragnarok

Thor: Ragnarok is the sequel to 2011’s Thor and 2013’s Thor: The Dark World. The events here followed the Avengers: Age of Ultron. Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is imprisoned in another world without his hammer. He would have to battle it out with his old friend, the Hulk, and return to Asgard to stop Hela and the impending Ragnarok.

Tom Hiddleston will reprise his role as Thor’s adoptive brother, Loki. Cate Blanchett will play the villainous Hela.

The Fate of the Furious

Is there anything more anticipated than the eight installment of the Fast and the Furious franchise? Here, Dom (Vin Diesel) and Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) are on their honeymoon and Brian (Paul Walker) and Mia are retired from the game. The team is living a normal life, until Dom was seduced by a mysterious woman (Charlize Theron).

She throws him into a world of crime, causing him to betray his “family.” They will then have to group together to save Dom and themselves.

Beauty And The Beast

So much is expected from Emma Watson’s portrayal of Belle in Beauty and the Beast. We all know the premise of the film—Belle’s father is taken as a prison by a Beast in the castle. In exchange for him, Belle turns herself in and fell in love with the Beast’s character.

Aside from the storyline, we cannot wait to hear Watson’s singing voice, as well as the rest of the cast—Dan Stevens (Beast), Luke Evans (Gaston), and Ewan McGregor (Lumiere).

The Mummy

The Mummy was such a classic that it almost hurt to see it back on screen with Tom Cruise. Slated to be released on June 9, this tells the story of an ancient princess who woke up in the modern world. Her awakening did not temper down the grudge she has been holding for millenniums.

Cruise stars with Sofia Boutella and Russell Crowe in one of the most anticipated movies 2017.
