Having comfort food is great for any season, but it looks like the need for it increases every Valentine’s Day. What’s great about food is that they are there no matter our mood is. We eat food to help lift our spirits or celebrate a very happy moment.
If you just went through a breakup on Valentine’s day, then these foods are perfect for you. They don’t take a lot of time to make and you probably have the ingredients in your kitchen. And those who are single by choice, don’t worry. You can also whip up these delicious meals and then spend the whole day in your house while binge-watching movies on Feb. 14.
Comfort Food: Your Best Friend On Valentine’s Day
If you want quick and easy but delicious food, try going for mug meals. The ingredients are often placed in a mug and then cooked in the microwave. For a fast macaroni and cheese, put some small macaroni noodles in a mug with cold water. Put in the microwave for one minute before draining the water. Then add some milk, shredded cheese and season with salt and pepper if desired. Cook for another minute and, voila! Aside from mac and cheese, you can also make breakfast items and even desserts as mug meals so fell free to experiment!

Admit it: we all craved for some good cookie dough several times in our lives. Sometimes, the dough is even better than the cookies themselves! One easy recipe for chocolate cookie dough calls for a combination of sugar, brown sugar, softened butter, water, a little bit of salt, flour, and chocolate chip cookies. Put all of the ingredients in a small bowl then mix together with a spoon or mixer until everything is well incorporated. Get your dessert and make sure you guard this delectable comfort food well!
It seems like the trend recently in cooking are easy-peasy meals with less pots and pans to clean. Aside from the mug meals, another trend has risen: one pot/pan meals. One pot pasta seems to be a really popular meal to make. This might be because a pasta recipe can be customized to one’s taste and the output is very filling, too.
One easy spaghetti recipe calls for sausage, tomatoes, basil, onion, garlic, water, and spaghetti. Dump them all in a stockpot or in a Dutch oven over medium high heat. Season with salt and pepper before bringing everything to a boil. Then reduce the heat and simmer until the pasta is cooked through and there is less water. Mix in some grated Parmesan cheese and serve. Keep in mind that you have to stir the noodles every now and then so they don’t stick to the bottom of the pot.
Easy Food: Simply The Best
Desserts are one of the best things to eat when one is feeling down in the dumps. And when you are feeling sad, you don’t have time for complicated desserts. This easy ice cream pie calls for four ingredients and takes less than thirty minutes to make! In a large bowl, mix in peanut butter and Karo syrup (or any corn syrup that you have in hand). Grease up your hands with butter or no-stick cooking spray then add crisped rice cereals. Mix everything using your hands then press the mixture on the bottom and sides of a pie pan. Then fill up the crust with the ice cream of your choice. Put in the fridge for four hours or overnight to set.
A story of true love between pizza, grilled cheese, and you. https://t.co/ZDdRtl3QJJ

A grilled cheese sandwich is a comfort food that can fix almost anything. But what if you combine grilled cheese and pizza? Yes, it’s even better. First, grab some fresh mozzarella then cut it into semi-thin slices. Next, take your bread of choice then cut it in half. Add a good spoonful of marinara sauce on the bread slices before layering up your pizza toppings. One half of the bread, add your fresh mozzarella slices, some pepperoni, and basil. Top with grated Parmesan and mozzarella then cook it in your Panini grill or in a pan, if you don’t have the former. Once they are done, slice your sandwich in half and enjoy!
