Original Story

The 89th Academy Awards will be hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences at the Dolby Theatre Hollywood. It will air live on ABC, starting 5:30 PM Pacific Time.

Will “La La Land” win big, like anticipated? Is there a chance that “Hidden Figures” win Best Picture? Follow us as we cover the 89th Academy Awards.

Oscars 2017 Winners and Losers

“La La Land” leads the number of Oscar nominations with 14: including for best actor, actress, director, and picture. Weeks before the event, analysts have already pointed out that it is poised to win all these awards. The number of nominations is no small feat as it officially ties “La La Land” with iconic movies like “All About Eve” and “Titanic.”

Following closely to “La La Land” is “Arrival” and “Moonlight,” both garnering 8 nominations. Ava DuVernay’s Netflix documentary “13th” is also in the running.

Oscars 2017 Performances

For Oscars 2017, notable artists John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Sting are all going to be performing. It is anticipated that Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, both nominated for their movie “La La Land” will make a surprise performance.

Oscars 2017 Predictions

Tripped Media has its own list of predictions and we wonder if we somehow got it right. We’re not sure about the winners but we are definite that Donald Trump will get a strong beating on the speeches that will be made tonight.

Like all analysts, Tripped Media is sure that “La La Land” will win big tonight, especially Best Picture. The movie is all about “making it” in Hollywood, even in exchange for love. What could be more Oscar-friendly? But we’re also holding out for Hidden Figures, a real-life story about three black, female mathematicians. Working in a predominantly male occupation at the NASA, in the 60s, the three women certainly grabbed some hearts. It is also the highest-grossing among the nine best picture nominees, so it cannot be discounted just yet.

“La La Land” can actually take home a maximum of 13 statuettes since two out of the 14 nominations are for best song. If it does, then it will be making Oscar history. If it does not, we have a feeling that it will still be bringing home much more than other nominees. Let’s see if what we and other analysts predicted will come true.

Stay tuned to us!
