Nike Zoom KD9 The Sauce: Cop These Kicks in Time for Christmas!

‘Tis the season to be stylish!

While the swoosh has almost made it a habit to drop themed kicks as the holidays roll in, 2016 will be different for the brand. Unlike previous years’ Ghost of Christmas Past Kobe and What The Kyrie 2s, this year, Nike and Kevin Durant are painting the town red with the newest Nike Zoom KD9 The Sauce.

Since arriving in stores in June, Kevin Durant has dropped some of the most profound colorways for the Nike Zoom KD9. Nike definitely made sure that there is at least one more must-have look to pick up before the year ends.

The new Nike Zoom KD9 flaunts a deep burgundy colorway complemented by metallic red bronze and bright crimson highlights. Adding to its edgy look, the pair will also sport icy translucent soles.

Nike’s Partnership with Kevin Durant

Nike has referred to the Golden State Warriors athlete as “one of the most versatile players in the game.” Staying true to his abilities, the new KD 9 signature shoe will “help him keep fluid in his every move, equipped with a sock-like Flyknit upper” and “reimagined Nike Zoom Air cushioning” to enable natural motion during his game.

Durant’s fluidity comes to life with the new pair of kicks and just maybe, the pair even takes its namesake from the imagery of sweet and deep-flowing cranberry sauce.

Kevin Durant Takes Pride in The Sauce

In an earlier interview, Kevin Durant spoke about designer Leo Chang’s use of Nike’s Flyknit technology, which marks the first time it was used on one of the basketball star’s signature styles.

“My interests have changed, my game has changed, and this is a perfect shoe for who I am now. The upper allows me to shift to the right and come back to my left really quick and pull up on a dime. The shoes are perfectly catered to my foot, like I molded these and got a special pair made. That’s what I want everybody to feel who puts these on. It will feel personal,” Durant said in an interview as quoted by Complex.

While the Nike Zoom KD9 The Sauce was initially announced for a Dec. 5 launch, recent updates reveal that the shoe will be available online worldwide on Dec. 15.
