Scarlett Johansson Does Not Think Humans Are Meant To Marry And Be Monogamous

The latest Scarlett Johansson news swirling around the internet is her thoughts about humans and monogamy. For Johansson, being monogamous is not a natural trait of humans. Moreover, the actress said that committing to a relationship is “a lot of work.”

Merriam-Webster defines monogamy as the practice or state of being with one partner at a time. A difficult state to be in especially when there are temptations everywhere. It makes one stop and think whether being monogamous is what you really want.

Well, actress Scarlett Johansson thinks “it’s not natural to be a monogamous person.” In the actress’ interview with Playboy, Johansson believes a monogamous relationship takes a lot of work. Moreover, she points out, “the fact that it is such work for so many people—for everyone—the fact of that proves that it is not a natural thing.”

However, the Lost in Translation actress did commend people who can stick and love one person. Johansson went on to say that she has a lot of respect for people who can make it work. The outlet notes that the actress thinks “the idea of marriage is romantic” and even considers it a “beautiful idea” Moreover, Johansson cites that being married to a person changes everything. Furthermore, the actress even calls it a “beautiful responsibility.”

Vanity Fair reports that Johansson’s point of view about monogamy is not something new. The latter report notes that the actress already had the same views in her 2006 interview. “I don’t think human beings are monogamous creatures by nature,” said Johansson.

Despite her views on monogamy, the actress then was still hopeful to find a partner. The Lucy star said, “When I decide I want to have children with somebody, I think it would be nice to be married to that person.”

Apart from her views on monogamy, the initial source reports that the actress talked about how New York, the city where she grew up I changing. However, she still loves the idea of raising her daughter in the same city she grew up in.

The actress headlined reports last year because of her movie, Ghost in the Shell. Johansson will play the role of Major in the epic science fiction action film. Some of the manga’s supporters feel that the casting should have chosen a Japanese actress and not to Johansson. The Ghost in the Shell’s theatrical release is on March 31, 2017.
