On January 15, singer-actor Rain finally came back with The Best Present after a three-year break. The song was written by Rain himself and produced by his long-time friend, Psy. Currently, the music video has 1.6 million views in YouTube. But it looks like the Rain new MV has a deeper meaning than many thought.
According to Koreaboo, Korean media outlets reported that Rain will tie the knot with long-time girlfriend Kim Tae Hee. The two have been dating for over four years now. The confirmation was further cemented when Rain posted a letter in his Instagram for his fans. And apparently, The Best Present has a lot of clues that it is a proposal to Kim Tae Hee.

After the confirmation of Rain and Kim Tae Hee’s upcoming marriage, Psy took it to Twitter to congratulate the couple. In addition to that, the Gangnam Style singer revealed several things about Rain’s newest song.
In his Twitter post, Psy pointed out that the Rain new MV contained all of the things that Rain wanted to say to his soon-to-be wife. It is a song where Rain is actually proposing to Kim Tae Hee. One important thing that Psy revealed was a certain line in The Best Present. That line read “Your name forever will be the biggest happiness“, which was a message for Tae Hee.
Apparently, “tae” in Chinese means “big” while “hee” means “happiness”. So that certain line can translate into “Your name forever, Tae Hee.”
Rain To Tae Hee: “She’s The Best Present For Me”
Two days after the release of the Rain new MV, Rain posted a letter in Instagram about his upcoming wedding with Kim Tae Hee. He addressed his fans in the letter, and thanked them for the support that they gave him all throughout the years.
“It’s been 16 years since I made my debut and many of my fans became beautiful women already. Maybe some of you are amazing mothers already. The truth is, I am also trying to become the head of a house as a husband and as a man,” Rain wrote.
He also added, “Because Korea is going through a tough time right now, the wedding will be quiet and private. I hope you’ll understand that I cannot add anymore details about the event. Thank you for all of the love and support these past 16 years. From now on, I will show a more responsible and modest side of me as an actor and singer.”
