Miss France Iris Mittenaere, better known as Miss Universe 2016, is presently in New York City. All the press conferences and all the paparazzi surrounding the beautiful damsel are just settling down. For the next one year, the winner of Miss Universe needs to get adept giving interviews, pretty sure, that is one of the lessons they learn.
Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere spoke to one of the publications about the way forward after winning the crown. From ensuring smiles (quite literally) to empowering women, all are on the to-do list of this French citizen.
Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere Plans Ahead
Miss Universe 2016 spoke to Hollywood Life.com about her plans to ensure dental hygiene in the world. “I’m going to work with Smile Train” she says. Smile Train is a non-profit which provides corrective surgery for children with cleft lips and palates.
Mittenaere is pursuing a degree in dental surgery and she wishes to use her expertise in bringing a change to the world. She also wants to represent and empower women who do get a platform to speak. Iris says, “I want to show people that women have something to say, something to do, and [that] we are not just mothers, sisters, or a wife, [but that] we are a lot of things. We have jobs. I think it’s important. I want to be a good role model for children, women and girls.”
Life After Miss Universe 2016
Iris Mittenaere is currently touring NYC and going about sightseeing. She also was photographed posing in front of Statue of Liberty. For Iris, NYC makes her reminiscent of the energy her hometown Paris brings. She is just beginning to grapple around the fame that the pageant brought to her.
Mittenaere says, “It’s surreal. Everything changed in one second when they said my country’s name. Everything has been absolutely crazy.” She is adapting to the changes in the people around her, a change of residence for now and culture as well.
The last time France took the Miss Universe Crown was in 1953. Reports suggest that in 1953 that 18-year-old Christiane Martel was the winner of the beauty pageant. Miss Universe 2016 also spoke highly of previous pageant winner Miss Philippines Pia Wurtzbach. She also revealed that Pia was actually rooting for Miss France to win the crown.
