Justin Timberlake: Singer Worried About Uncertain Future Of Career

Justin Timberlake is one of the pop icons in modern music industry. Gone are his days as a boy band member and everybody knows him as the suave, sexy man that he is today. At 36, it seems like the star is far from retiring. Or is he?

Timberlake first came to prominence as one of the lead vocalists of boy band NSYNC. When the group went on hiatus in 2002, Timberlake began his career as a solo artist. He released his debut solo single, Like I Love You, in late 2002. He’s tied the knot to actress Jessica Biel and they have a son, Silas Randall.

The Cry Me A River singer admitted to the Hollywood Reporter about his uncertain future.

“I idolize the golden era of Hollywood, when all of the actors are also talented in singing and dancing. But right now, I am just following my guts whenever I’m making decisions. To be honest, I am just glad that my career is working out because I’m not gifted at anything else,” Justin Timberlake said.

He also revealed that he’s unsure whether to spend the next few years of his life on tour or in a movie set. According to the singer, most of his uncertainty came from the fact that he’s not getting younger anymore.

“Going on tours is a circus. After the 125th show, you want nothing more but to be in bed,” Timberlake added, “I’m not 16 years old anymore.”

So What’s Next?

It’s confirmed that Timberlake will appear as a supporting character in Woody Allen’s upcoming movie. The cast also includes Kate Winslet and Juno Temple. The movie’s title and release date is not yet announced.

When asked about his son Silas, Justin Timberlake revealed the struggles he experienced in the first year as a father. He admitted that balancing work and family was difficult for him. He even compared the experience to the act of balancing plates on poles.

“Except that I’ll probably die if one of the plates fall,” he said. And the big question: What if his son wants to become a star like his father?

“What if my son wants to follow in my path? I have no answer for that yet. But if he wants it badly, then I can teach him on what to do and what not to do,” Timberlake answered.
