Jung Joon Young Makes a Comeback in 2 Days & 1 Night Post Controversy

Jung Joon Young had a very difficult 2016. The actor was embroiled in a sexual assault case back in September 2016. The case was filed by his ex-girlfriend who accused him of filming their intimate moments.

Due to the controversies around the case, Jung Joon Young took a break from his career. Fans, however, were waiting for a comeback from the singer and actor. Soon after, the case took a turn and the ex-girlfriend dropped all charges. However, the damage was done.

Controversies and Damage Control

Jung Joon Young was reportedly dropped from concerts and shows. The actor also took a break from his show 2 Days & 1 Night. The show’s production house released a statement saying, “After discussing with Jung Joon Young for a long time, it has been decided that he will be leaving for a time of self-reflection regardless of the inquiry’s outcome,” reports Soompi.

The show continued on without Jung Joon Young. He chose to stay away to take some time for himself. The singer also canceled his appearance for the Digital Media City music festival. His band was going to perform along with other big K-pop acts, such as SISTAR and MONSTA X.

The drop-outs continued as he chose to stay away from more TV shows and public appearances.

Things Look Better for Jung Joon Young

However, 2017 looks better for the star as he is slowly beginning to emerge out of the shadows. In this New Year, fans were elated to see their star post a handwritten letter to them. He announced that he is working on a new album. And he will make his comeback with that.

Jung Joon Young says, “I think I’ll be able to make a comeback soon because I’m almost in the final stages of completing my new album. Please be patient and wait just a little more as I want my first reunion with you to be through my music. Happy New Year.”

The singer cum actor is returning to KBS’s 2 Days & 1 Night. He received a hearty welcome from the cast and crew of the show. The episode with Jung Joon Young airs on Jan. 15, 2017. Here’s hoping that the singer leaves the bad days behind and continues to entertain his audience.
