Grammys 2017: After Super Bowl, Lady Gaga To Perform With Metallica

After an explosive Super Bowl performance, Lady Gaga is heading to the Grammys 2017 stage. Reports say that the Born This Way hit maker will be gracing the stage together with hard rock band Metallica. The band recently teased “something unique and special” after it was announced that they will be performing for the 59th annual Grammys.

While on the surface it may seem a bit odd of a pairing, as fans have seen over the years, Lady Gaga’s versatility is impressive. She has also shown her fondness for rock music, that is definitely giving fans hope for a very, very interesting performance up ahead.

Grammys 2017: Lady Gaga To Perform With Metallica

After her well-received Super Bowl LI performance, Lady Gaga confirmed that she is joining Metallica on stage for music’s biggest night. The Recording Academy also announced the list of artists and bands who will be performing this year. There will also be tributes to the late artists, Prince and George Michael.

The news of Lady Gaga joining rock band Metallica on stage caught the attention of many. During an appearance on Zane Lowe’s Apple Music Show, Gaga explained how the pairing came about.

“I was at Bradley Cooper’s house with Lars Ulrich, and we were just hanging out,” she said. She went on to say, “I went to see Metallica live. I’ve seen a them a couple of times live, but I saw them live recently, and we were watching the show and those guys play better than they’ve ever played in their whole lives,” Gaga said.

This exciting update gives more reason to watch the Sunday night airing of the Grammys. Metallica has also been nominated for Best Rock Song at the event for their single Hardwired.

Metallica also released a statement to get fans hyped up for the event. The statement reads, “We promised you something unique for Grammy night. In addition to the honor of Hardwired being nominated for Best Rock Song, we are thrilled to confirm that Lady Gaga will be joining us on stage at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards!”

Following the Grammy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 12, Metallica will also be playing for an intimate show for around 3,000 or so fans at the Hollywood Palladium.
