Chrissy Teigen Reveals Postpartum Depression: ‘It Does Not Discriminate’

Chrissy Teigen Latest Confession About Postpartum Depression

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend gave birth to their daughter Luna in 2015. Teigen gave birth to Luna through In Vitro Fertilization and she openly talked about the challenges. Her coming out about struggles paved way for many women to be courageous enough to address their conceiving issues.

In an interview with Glamour, Teigen speaks about her struggle with postpartum depression. She lays her heart out speaking about how she went through and physical and emotional changes after giving birth to her child. The supermodel calls herself a ‘chronic oversharer’ and good for the world that she is!

She says, “I had everything I needed to be happy. And yet, for much of the last year, I felt unhappy. What basically everyone around me—but me—knew up until December was this: I have postpartum depression.” The model openly spoke about how her tolerance level for people had gone down during the period.

In the interview, Chrissy speaks about the process that led to the discovery of postpartum depression and anxiety in her. She says she never anticipated that it could hit her because she had a happy life. “I have all the help I could need: John, my mother (who lives with us), a nanny. But postpartum does not discriminate. I couldn’t control it. And that’s part of the reason it took me so long to speak up.”

She says that the revelation of her suffering from this depression has led her to respect other women who go through the same. Chrissy Teigen decided to use her position to talk about it so that other women going through the same can get help and overcome this phase.
