Cara Delevingne is not just everyone’s favorite model and Chanel’s ultimate muse. Come October, she will also be a published author with a young adult fiction titled Mirror, Mirror.
After dabbling in the musical arts and even appearing in 2012’s Anna Karenina, Delevingne is now ready to take her career to new heights. The model announced on her Instagram account that her book is now ready for pre-order. It will start its deliveries in October.
Cara Delevingne’s Mirror, Mirror Targets The Young Adults
It’s only fitting that Cara Delevingne’s first novel will appeal to her fans—the young adults. Mirror, Mirror will follow a group of 16-year-olds in a “coming of age story.” As early as now, critics are saying that it will have that funny and witty tone we have come to know and love from Delevingne.
According to the model’s Instagram post, the story follows Red, Leo, Naima, and Rose as they navigate that tricky “minefield” of school and relationships. Everything was going great for the group until something happens one day. Is something scary and terrifying going on here?
Delevingne said she has grown to love the characters “so much.” “The process of putting this novel together has been life changing and something I hold really close to my heart!!”
The model hinted that the story will be closely related to her teenage years, too. She said she cannot wait to talk about “this” time in life—self-discovery, pain, triumphs, and friendships. These are the experiences that shape us, she added.
Delevingne invited her fans to form a virtual book club with her, so they can talk about the book. She will also be able to share more through the book club, she said.
Always Open To The Arts
Delevingne is no stranger to arts. She has dabbled in modeling, acting, music, theater arts, and now, in literature. Born in a wealthy family in London and grew up in Belgravia (one of the wealthiest districts in the world), Delevingne family has a strong background in literature and journalism.
Her maternal grandfather was a publishing executive, and some of her ancestors were a magazine publisher and a newspaper proprietor. Her family also has a royal lineage since she descended from baronets and two of her ancestors served as Lord Mayor of London.
Though she briefly struggled with depression, that didn’t stop Cara Delevingne from succeeding in whatever she sets her mind on.
