The Angelina Jolie Brad Pitt brouhaha continues in Hollywood. But though Pitt can’t get custody of his six children with Jolie for now, he has one thing on his side: the whole of Hollywood. It seems the actors’ peers are behind Pitt in their divorce and custody debacle.
Why, you ask? It seems that fans think the actor cares more about Hollywood that Jolie ever did in their long careers. Apparently, the actor cares enough to still continue being friends with their peers, produce and act in quality movies, and attend Hollywood events.
Angelina Jolie Brad Pitt Drama Is Allowing Hollywood To Back Pitt
We started to notice that this whole Angelina Jolie Brad Pitt battle will have Hollywood siding with the actor during last month’s Golden Globe. He has, after all, always been half of Hollywood’s sweethearts (the other one being Jennifer Aniston). Last month, Hollywood gave Pitt a loud, sustained applause (and standing ovation) when he came out on stage looking as dashing as ever.
He was in the middle of an ugly custody and divorce battle with Jolie, but it was clear he has won the custody of their peers. Hollywood, it all seems, is Team Brad. This wasn’t the way Jolie would’ve wanted it as she prepared to make Pitt look like a drunkard, unfaithful, and abusive husband and father.
Sorry, Angie, but Hollywood is not buying any of that. According to an analysis in NY Post, as reprinted by news.com.au, Hollywood has largely been tolerant of Jolie because Pitt married her. There is no love for Jolie from her peers, unfortunately.
Jolie is basically isolated from the show business community at large. She has no girl squads, and she even admitted that she has no friends. In one interview, she revealed only talking to her family and Brad when she needs to talk about her problems.
Pitt Is A Hollywood Darling
While Jolie was criticized and laughed at based on the 2014 Sony e-mail hacks, Pitt is making a name for himself by producing quality films. His production house, Plan B, is a well-respected company that produced The Departed, The Big Short, 12 Years A Slave, and this year’s Moonlight. He also just signed a $60-million deal with Netflix for his upcoming film, War Machine.
This just goes to show that even amid a nasty divorce with Jolie, Hollywood powerbrokers still think highly of Pitt’s brand. Jolie, on the other hand, has to deal with a lot more PR damage than she expected. This Angelina Jolie Brad Pitt may be going the distance, but we hope they soon settle it for their kids.
