For Andrew Garfield Disneyland wasn’t just the happiest place on Earth. It was “heaven”. The actor has confessed to once being high on pot during his 29th birthday as he, then-girlfriend Emma Stone, and some friends visited the park in California.
Perhaps, these types of celebrations weren’t exactly what Disney executives had in mind when they acquired Marvel some years ago, but the Amazing Spider-Man actor seemed to have a good time.
29th Birthday High
“I was with my favorite people in the world… eight of my closest friends,” Garfield said, describing how the party had surprised him in LA. As shared in a story by Mirror, they had some pot brownies before making their way over to the theme park. That’s where the wonders of the park must have manifested themselves in some pretty unique ways to them.

“How about Space Mountain three times in a row!?” Garfield said of the experience, referring one of theme park’s biggest thrill coasters. “I freaked out on ‘It’s a Small World’. I was like… ‘it is a [expletive] small world’…”
But perhaps the best Andrew Garfield Disneyland anecdote is the dancing. Garfield described how he and his friends heard the music coming through the trees and began moving to it in an impromptu group dance. Forget about the choreography, too: “I think at one point, we looked at each other like, ‘Why are we doing the same dance? How did this happen!?'”
We can only imagine how seeing real-life Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy was quite the sight for kids in the park.
Andrew and Emma Since Then
Garfield (33) and Emma Stone (28) have since split up. The break-up happened in 2015, shortly after they reprised their roles as Peter and Gwen in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. And while celebrities getting together and breaking up are common in Hollywood, this one surprised plenty of fans. The two had been considered a real it-couple, the kind that would really tie a knot and go the distance. The Andrew Garfield Disneyland confession would have been a great story to tell over and over, too.
Last year, Garfield starred in Silence, a Martin Scorsese historical drama about a pair of Jesuit priests who travel to Japan to search for their mentor. He also starred in the war film Hacksaw Ridge, directed by Mel Gibson. Stone, meanwhile, has starred in the critically acclaimed La La Land with Ryan Gosling. She’ll be playing Billie Jean King in the upcoming Battle of the Sexes.
