This Is Us Season 2 Spoilers: No, Jack Did Not Die There

No, Jack did not die in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, This Is Us Season 2 viewers! However, at the 34th Annual PaleyFest, Chris Sullivan joked that Jack’s death is “exactly how viewers think it’s going to be.” Now, do you feel confused too?

The This Is Us fever is far from over. Fans are still looking for clues on how Jack Pearson (Milo Ventimiglia) met his untimely death. The cast and producers of NBC’s hit series attended the PaleyFest last Saturday, March 18, according to a TVLine report. The group discusses what viewers can expect in Season 2 and to address the “mystery surrounding Jack’s death.”

Jack’s Death Theory Debunked

Before everyone thinks Jack died in the Sept. 11 terrorist attack, no he did not. The outlet notes that Sterling K. Brown debunked this theory saying it’s geographically impossible for Jack to die there. “He’s in Pittsburgh!” said the actor.

Meanwhile, Chris Sullivan joked that people do not have to go too far with their theories. The actor went on to say that Jack’s death is “exactly how the audience think it’s going to.”

A previous Tripped Media article reported that a This Is Us fan speculated Jack will meet his death through a plane crash. The fan had a theory that Jack was one of the passengers in the US Air Flight 427 crash that happened in 1994.

On the other hand, viewers thought Jack will meet his death in Season 1’s episode finale when a preview showed him driving his car whilst having a few cans of beer beside him. Everyone thought he’d die in a horrific car crash because of drunk driving.

This Is Us Season 2 Spoilers

Meanwhile, Deadline reported that This Is Us Executive Producer and Director Glenn Ficarra made a comment in the PaleyFest event that might cause fans to add it to their ‘how Jack died’ theory list. Before actor Jon Huertas went out to join the panel, the stars present in the panel were asked to name “one positive quality” about Huertas’ character, Miguel.

While some remarked about his hair and that he speaks Spanish, Ficarra’s response was intriguing. The director joked, “Without spoiling anything, I forgive him for killing Jack.” Miguel is Jack’s best friend in the series. In the present day, he is now Rebecca’s (Mandy Moore) second husband.

Apart from Ficarra’s response, he and another This Is Us Executive Producer and Director John Requa teased the panel’s audience about Season 2. According to the director, viewers will see Jack and the other characters from another perspective this season.

“We have some new writers on staff. The great thing about the show is it’s like this spider web, and we’re able to go off in all directions and delve deep into people,” said the director. This Is Us Season 2 will premiere sometime in 2017.
