Rick and Morty Season 3: Nope, It’s Not Premiering On Jan. 9

When IMDB recently posted on its Rick and Morty Season 3 page that it will premiere on Jan. 9, fans were ecstatic. That’s too bad, though, because co-creator and voice talent (of Rick and Morty) Justin Roiland announced on Twitter that the show is not coming back this month.

Since then, IMDB took out the Jan. 9 listing from its page. Now, fans are eagerly waiting for confirmation about when Season 3 of the Adult Swim adult animated series is going to premiere. They are hoping that it will start early this year.

Rick and Morty Season 3 is not coming back on Jan. 9

Rick and Morty Season 3 will continue to feature the alcoholic genius Rick Sanchez and his grandson, Morty. Rick always takes Morty to impossible and dangerous adventures with him. In a sneak peek of the third season, he even took Morty out of school to go gallivanting in space.

In a tweet on Jan. 4, Roiland said, “As far as I know (and I would know), season three does not air on Jan 9th.” He did not mention when it will premiere, though, but judging from these absolute no-hint news from the show’s creators, it won’t be anytime soon.

Roiland even made a fun, and asked fans to “Go ahead and (Jodi) Arias me,” referring to Arias, who was convicted of murdering her boyfriend in 2013. Fans are surely not happy about this non-confirmation of an air date for Rick and Morty.

Since last December, fans have been anticipating and speculating that Season 3 will begin early this year. The Jan. 9 listing by IMDB seemed to be a good enough confirmation for them, but to no avail. Now, they only have a short sneak peek of what will happen to Rick and Morty in the third season.

Star Wars reference in Season 3

The sneak peek released earlier showed Morty’s obsession of sleeping with Jessica through a Star Wars reference. He’s been trying to get into her circle of friends after learning that Jessica broke up with Brad.

This means that Rick and Morty Season 3 will now discuss the intriguing tale of Morty waking up to puberty.
