If you just brought an iPad 2, return it and stash your cash in the safest location near your front door. Today, All Things D reported the release of the iPad 3 in March, which comes nearly a year after the iPad 2 debuted. Yes, this isn’t a big deal to some and Apple hasn’t confirmed this, but lets take a look at the rumor anyway.
Sources say the company has chosen the first week in March to debut the successor to the iPad 2, and will do so at one of its trademark special events. The event will be held in San Francisco, presumably at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Apple’s preferred location for big announcements like these.
Hmm…
While there isn’t a release date or any confirmation surrounding the next generation iPad, it does seem like an excellent moment to release a new product. There’s already buzz surrounding the rumored production of a Kindle Fire 2 and ASUS already has a quad-core Android-powered tablet on the market. The original Kindle Fire has already seen widespread adoption and its successor would probably do just as well.
Also, if this iPad 3 isn’t a fantasy, the biggest improvement will be a retina display. Meaning, it’ll have a blu-ray quality display.
Apple, if this is real you need to send us one. We send thank you cards if that means anything.
